The time may be NOW to get familiar with an up-and-coming Norwegian singer by the name ofMr. Little Jeans (AKA Monica Birkenes – there’s no actual ‘Mr.’ in this outfit), who has been quietly dropping tracks via her Soundcloud page a little over a year now. The reason is; this little vocalist is showing huge talent with her recent cover (and transformation) of Arcade Fire’s super smash track, “The Suburbs”.
The original version which is filled with grandiose instrumentation has been replace by some eerie and ‘electrofied’ base and synth – which is then topped perfectly with Mr. Little Jeans’ ethereal vocals. Impressively, she has turned this dreamy pop song into a hauntingly sinister nightmare of her own, proving that she is definitely a prolific artist to watch out for. Check it out.
