Last week we shared Tyler The Creator‘s most recent destructive tune, “Yonkers,” and its accompanying video, which is seriously some of the most messed up, disturbing shit I’ve seen in a while. The full version of the track is now available on iTunes and houses a third, previously unheard verse – which does not appear in the video – giving Tyler the chance to rap in the form of his alter ego Wolf Haley (who also directed the video).
As Wolf, he goes after the blogs and fans that have been giving him so much attention: “not again another critic writing report, I’m stabbing any blog and faggot hipster with a pitchfork.” The frontman of the weird Los Angeles collective OFWGKTA started being recognized – ironically enough by Pitchfork, at first – after dropping his Bastardmixtape, where he mostly raps about how his father left him, in addition to drugs, rape, and other fun issues. In addition to his bizarre, depraved rhymes, he also produced the beat for “Yonkers,” which I dare say is the grimiest he’s crafted to date.
Tyler, The Creator - Yonkers by The Up-Turn
XL Records has just signed the young rapper to their imprint, and will be releasing his first proper LP Goblins in April. The Odd Future Gang will appear on Jimmy Fallon tonight; that should be a very interesting performance, hope Jimmy’s got his censors ready.
