Mother Mother – “The Stand”

Mother Mother The Stand stream

When asked about their forthcoming third LP, frontman for Vancouver ensemble Mother Mother, Ryan Guldemond, stated “our new songs are bolder and more animated.” That’s an understatement. He also said that the first single released in promotion for Eureka, “The Stand,” is about “a misanthrope who corrupts the minds of two young school girls.” Musically, it combines the ukelele and folk resonance that made 2008′s O My Heart such a winner in Canada and the U.K. with eccentric melodies and some seriously suspicious vocals from Guldemond.Eureka is setting up to be a very interesting listen, set to drop on March 15th via Last Gang Records.
