Destiny’s Child – Bills Bills Bills (James Blake Refix) by ListenBeforeYouBuy
James Blake is doing a good job remaining our most blogged about artist of 2011. Last year the British producer, amidst dropping a slew of EP’s that made him a dubstep deity by the time he dropped his debut, had released two remixes – or refixes – under the moniker Harmonix.
The subjects? None other than Destiny’s Child “Bills, Bills, Bills” and Lil Wayne’s “A Milli.” On the former, neither Beyonce, Kelly Rowland or Michelle Williams’ vocals can be heard over Blake’s thrilling rendition, enlisting his voice instead, and brimming with his signature synth and dubstep compulsions. On “A Milli” Weezy’s vocals remain intact over fluttering electronica samples and that chilled out drum beat that Blake is oh, so good at producing. Both are stellar, definitely worth a few listens. Here is a non-album, club track from Blake called “Love What Happened Here” – unfortunately Benji B talks all the way through.
